every Tuesday (except for holidays) from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Fontana Police
Department
What is a Police Explorer?
A Police Explorer is a young adult who
has a desire to learn about law enforcement as a career through firsthand
experience. An explorer has the opportunity to learn all aspects and
functions of the Police Department. This program offers experience in the
records unit, front desk, detective unit, traffic enforcement, and a patrol
officer's function through the ride-along program.
How do I become a Police
Explorer?
The minimum qualifications to be a
Police Explorer is as follows:
- Must be between the ages of 14 and
20-½.
- Must maintain a 'C' or better grade
point average.
- Must be willing to volunteer a
minimum of 10 hours a month of service.
- Must have a good moral character and
good background.
